HONGKONG DAY 2- The Peak

Woke up that day late and yet excited for our next adventure while in Hongkong. Only to find out of the heavy and persistent rain that could ruin our schedule going to the Peak. But just as is , the show must  go on.

breakfast at the hotel before heading to our next adventure

mama having a hearty breakfast @ Royal pacific Hotel and towers

this train will take us to central- the starting point if you plan to go to The Peak. Once we reached central station we took a taxi going up to The Peak.

... only to be disapointed with this heavy fog... look cant even take a decent picture with this loser fogs. oh well we really need to be back here.

RUINS OF ST. PAUL- MACAU

After a very hearty lunch and before going back to Hongkong, we dropped by this famous/ historic landmark in macau- The ruins of St. Paul.

The façade sits on a small hill, with 66 stone steps leading up to it. But, after a whole day of walking, I just cant drag my big ass  to even one step leading up to the ruins.

... even mama and bro cant drag their tired feet too.

amazing facade...

we are thirsty from all the walking... yeah a fruit juice at one of this stands will do

... be able to grab a map of the city from here...

Now time to say bye Macau. We will definitely be back.

VENETIAN HOTEL-MACAU

This hotel is a luxury at its finest . The moment you enter this place, you will definitely be transported to a different world.

How you wished you can convert them all to trinkets and necklaces...ah yeah and rings...

CITY OF DREAMS -MACAU

Our first stop while in Macau- city of dreams...

City of dreams  is in the style of a podium, with four towers: namely the Hard Rock Hotel, Crown Towers Hotel, and the Grand Hyatt Macau (2 towers)

One of the towers at city of dreams macau. look at mom and bro's grin...

I picked a good spot for this as there are so many tourist trying to get a pose for the cam upon going down the bus.

MACAU

Macau is definitely worth a day or overnight trip.It is much more than casinos with great food and wine, and interesting architecture. But then while it is certainly possible as a day trip, I would highly recommend doing it as an overnight trip during the week. The reason is that hotels in Macau are often better value than their equivalents in Hong Kong. Also, Macau has some great restaurants, so staying overnight gives you more time to sample some of the delicious food and wine, without worrying about a choppy late night ferry ride home.

We hopped on an earlier sail to Macau from Hongkong at around 8am that day and arrived macau 1 hour later. You can take ferry either by First Ferry (China Ferry Terminal - Tsim Sha Tsui), or by Turbojet or Cotaijet (shun tak Ferry Terminal- Sheung Wan)

There's plenty of things to see in Macau that's free. You can hotel-hop, go to Senado Square, museums, fisherman's wharf, temples, forts, etc. Macau is definitely worth going to.

Will post more on the things we did while in Macau....

PEKING GARDEN RESTAURANT- TST HONGKONG

Dining in at this resto was a part of our itinerary while in Hongkong for vacation coz I wanted mama and bro to taste an authentic chinese cuisine while I on the other hand would like to have a taste  on how succulent their peking duck and beggars chicken really is. So after the light show at the harbour, we walked our way through this resto with no reservation.
The place itself is exactly what you would expect from a 3rd floor lesser Shopping Mall venue, with no alfresco experience, no thrills just a great vibe and spectacular food. But the amount of local families enjoying the dishes and environment says it all about the food quality, and the chance to witness new dishes being brought to other tables and asking the service team what those dishes are and experimenting is awesome and part of the charm and experience there.

But wait till you hear the letdown...We asked politely to be moved...No way; they don't (or act like they don't) understand much English. The service was generally apalling. We were surprised to actually receive a bill at the end. We asked for help on the ordering...wow. We ended up with a mess. We ordered the specialty "beggar's chicken"; completely 'sold out' at 8:30. I think...I don't know; maybe they didn't understand? I personally tried bird's nest soup (interesting to try) and we ordered 1 whole Peking duck for the 3 of us (must say that the handmade wraps were nothing short of fantastic) but really....there were maybe 500 people in the dining room, lots of noise and basic lousy service at a very expensive price. If you want to feel like cattle being shoved through a processor, have a go. The restaurants in HK are so amazing; this is just a letdown. hmmm but ill still have a peking duck to go. hehehehe

LOCATION: 3/F, Star House, 3 Salisbury Road, Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong, China

ROYAL PACIFIC HOTEL AND TOWER

Royal Pacific Hotel and Towers was our temporary home for 3 nights and 4 days while in Hongkong. The location of this hotel couldn't be better - Its directly on top of the China / Macao ferry terminal, 2 minutes walk from Kowloon Park, and right in the hub of shops and countless restaurants.

During our stay we were lucky enough to get an upgraded room with glorious views of Victoria harbour. What can I say, the rooms we were in was clean and very big for "standard" rooms. It was fully equipped with flatscreen TV, desk, couch and coffee table. The large en suite with a separate shower and bath was also a pleasant surprise! The maids serviced the room every day to a very high standard the moment we walked out.

And oh this hotel is also next to all the main sites in Tsim Sha Tsui, next door to a great mall that connects to gate way mall, harbor city mall, that connects to the next mall and so on. Not far from K11 and many other hot spots in the area. Only 5 minute walk to Tsim Sha Tsui subway station and 10 min walk to the star ferry and 1 min walk from china ferry terminal (if you want to head to Macau or something) Also free shuttle to Kowloon airport express station, which is only 5 mins as well!! so ace location on the kowloon side!

As for their food, daily buffet breakfast and dinner buffet in the fantastic Cafe on the Park where you can never run short of sumptuous choices are delectable and cozy.

So apart from some delays checking in/out during busy periods, I can do nothing but recommend this hotel.
