RED ROCK CANYON NEVADA

We originally wanted to visit Grand Canyon which is a 1 whole day tour from the strip. But due to time constraints plus jet lagged  kicking in, we woke up late and was way behind schedule for the bus leaving the strip to Grand Canyon...

So we opted for the next big thing ... THE RED ROCK CANYON. There's a great 13 mile drive that takes you out to the trail areas and, if you take the time to stop, you'll be able to spot people climbing the rocks. We weren't that adventurous, but enjoyed watching others.

It's hard to believe there is such a lovely and quiet oasis this close to the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas. The first half contains the dramatic red rocks and the drive gains elevation until about the half way point. The second half is not nearly as scenic; don't expect it to look anything like the first half.

Scenic, beautiful and breathtaking! Nature's church! Great place for rock climbing and hiking. After driving through the Loop, we, continue south on the hwy and head into Spring Mtn Ranch. A great place to end your day of recreational hiking and picnic here for cool trees and scenic mountains.

This quiet beauty was absolutely wonderful and made this a very special day with me and my bff's. Our national park visitor pass got us in without paying an entrance fee, too. It was sunny  on the day we visited (apparently not common) and foggy at the top elevations. But that didn't stop us from having  a good time. All in all, it was well worth the time to drive out there from downtown Las Vegas. We will  be back.
